Beyond Boundaries: The Role of UK-Based Organisations in Advancing Global Gender Equality and Social Inclusion
At its heart, the ambition and intent behind Gender Equality and Social Inclusion is both simple and absolute – that everyone should have an equal protection of rights, political participation, access to basic resources and quality of services.
However, exclusion and marginalisation are in many instances built into the fabric of policy, society and attitudes. Often, the most excluded or marginalised are disproportionately impacted by humanitarian, health or climate crises. This was clearly and tellingly the case during the Covid-19 pandemic, where the crisis in lost learning was most pronounced amongst the most marginalised in society.
As Governments, their agencies, multi-lateral foundations and spokespeople for these communities come together to try and tackle these issues, the learning and experience ofUK-based organisations and practitioners has been synthesised into this document, to create both a blueprint and framing for the approach needed, together with a summary of their individual capabilities and examples of best practice deployed to deliver effective outcomes.
