The Climate Change Working Group provides; a platform for BEI members to network, engagement with key stakeholders in government, multilateral development banks and targeted export markets; sharing information and working together on designing and publishing relevant outputs. Initially created to critically engage with the UK’s hosting of COP26 in November 2021, the Working Group has continued to focus on the key thematic areas (Resilience, Adaptation, and Sustainability) of the conference whilst the UK retains its presidency until COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh.
The Climate Change Working Group also has four subgroups: Nature-based Solutions, Extreme Weather, the Built Environment & Climate Finance. With the exception of the latter, in November 2021 the subgroups published three reports into their respective areas, showcasing each organisation in expertise across the sector, demonstrating innovative solutions to the issues identified and succinctly summarising the BEI and UK offer in the export market. You can view the three papers here: Nature-based Solutions, Extreme Weather Risk and Climate Resilience and Built Environment.
Working Group meeting recordings and slides are only available to working group members. To access Agendas, Minutes and other files, please visit the Working Group's Teams channel. If you are interested in joining this Working Group, please contact Joe McLynn.
