To share their insights and expertise with government officials and private sector leaders working to deliver affordable housing in emerging markets, Altair have put together a special week-long Intensive Affordable Housing programme. This immersive training and study tour provided practical learning on how to create and expand the supply of affordable housing, sharing lessons from the UK. The inaugural study tour took place in the autumn of 2024 with a cohort of participants from across five African markets. To share some of the learnings, in this webinar Altair have distilled their key insights from the programme.
Our speakers will explore the role of political leadership, history, anchor institutions, have played in implementing housing supply, highlighting how responsibilities are distributed across various stakeholders. Another focus will be on the broader housing ecosystems, including crucial elements such as housing design, land access, finance for development or purchasing, and long-term infrastructure planning play in different emerging housing markets. Finally, the panel will discuss opportunities from the adoption of regulatory and legal frameworks to implement effective housing ecosystems in emerging economies and what lessons participants would seek to apply in their local markets.
Alongside Altair, our panel will feature their partners Shelter Afrique, the pan African housing finance development bank, as well as a participant from the last course, representing the Nigeria-based multi-disciplinary property services company, Modern Shelter.
This free to attend webinar is tailored for Mortgage Refinance Companies, Banks, Developers and Real Estate professionals, as well as civil servants working within Ministries of Finance, Ministries of Housing and Works, and Ministries of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and UK civil servants in the Department for Business and Trade, FCDO, BII and other related institutions.
