In collaboration with the Middle East Association, join us on 6th July at 15:00 for an overview and briefing on the recent UK-GCC Free Trade Agreement. This session will explore how UK organisations can leverage enhanced trade opportunities with the GCC. It aims to gather businesses and experts to discuss the implications, opportunities, and next steps of the agreement.
The UK has successfully concluded a landmark free trade agreement (FTA) with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), comprising the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Once the agreement is fully implemented, this deal will remove an estimated £580 million in duties per year, based on current UK exports to the GCC. In line with the UK’s Trade Strategy and Industrial Strategy, the deal aims to secure long-term market access, reduce barriers for UK exporters and unlock investment in high-growth sectors.
Alongside representatives from British Expertise International and the Middle East Association, we will be joined by Laura Mortimer, Deputy Director for the GCC at the Department for Business and Trade, and by Lord Udny-Lister, who will provide insights into UK-Gulf trade and investment, as well as the wider geopolitical and economic outlook, ultimately highlighting what this Free Trade Agreement will mean for British businesses.
