In the past two decades Turkey’s economic and social development performance has been impressive, with increase deployment and incomes - making Turkey an upper-middle-income country. There are opportunities across a broad range of sectors including energy,infrastructure, healthcare, technology, retail, defence and security,aerospace, and financial and business services. The Turkish government is investing significantly in a wide range of infrastructure projects, from nuclear power to road and rail. Turkey have sought to diversify their energy suppliers offering opportunities for liquid natural gas (LNG) exports and other options as they look to reduce their dependency on oil and gas and increasing the licensing of tenders for renewable energy.
Ambassador Yalçın joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1989, working in the Eastern Europe Department,with duties covering the Rotterdam and Plovdiv Consulate General, Baghdad,Moscow embassies and the Kuwait embassy. He was officially appointed as the British Ambassador in 2018.
