This webinar will explore best practices for strengthening global health systems. With a focus on equitable and inclusive health, the session will highlight gender and disability inclusion and include a deep dive into Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
As the first in a series of health-related events, this session will provide valuable insights into the mechanisms which help create equitable and inclusive health systems. Currently, access to healthcare is not equitable – more than half of the world’s population still lacks access to essential health services such as family planning and immunisation. In many countries, health systems are failing to meet people’s needs, most deeply affecting those who are predisposed to injustice.
This webinar will explore how social inclusion enables equitable health systems, with a focus on gender and disability inclusion across international development programmes.
About our panel:
Sightsavers is an international NGO working to prevent avoidable blindness and to advocate for the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities in some of the world’s poorest communities. Sightsavers will explore its work on the FCDO-funded WISH programmes, highlighting best practice for inclusion in SHRH programming.
IOD PARC, a UK‑based international development consultancy, will explore approaches to localisation and social inclusion, and how these principles shape IOD PARC’s evaluation practice through a feminist MEL approach. Drawing on reflections from evaluation work in the Global South, IOD PARC will highlight experiences as an evaluator in the Global South and what a predominantly Global North organisation can learn from those perspectives.
MSI Reproductive Choices is a global organisation providing contraception, safe abortion, and reproductive healthcare to people worldwide. MSI Reproductive Choices will explore best practices for cross-learning and evidence dissemination to drive impact when providing safe access to sexual and reproductive health services.
