This session will provide a platform for learning and collaboration between partners and organisations providing skills programmes. Decisions made today about education, workforce readiness, and social development will determine the level of resilience to future challenges, especially related to increasingly harsh climate conditions. As such, this session will focus on digital skills, green skills, and the inclusion of marginalised groups, including women and girls, and persons with disabilities.
The panel will talk to international contexts, particularly in South and Southeast Asia. Panellists will explore how to bridge the gap between education institutions and the job market, especially working with the private sector to create modern job pathways. Jane Rexworthy will talk to the recent trade mission to Vietnam and learnings around the future of green finance skills through the delivery of Green Finance Micro Credentials. Nitya Daryanani will share developments on the British Asian Trust’s Skill Impact Bond and the new scaled Skills Outcomes Fund in India, while Melanie Jackson will talk to programmes run by NOCN Group and partners across their regions of operation.
