Our March Skills & Training Working Group will provide an overview from the Skills and Professional Bodies Trade Mission, organised by the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) International Education Team, to Malaysia and Indonesia in January 2024. The mission showcased a wide range of opportunities that could provide export growth and partnership opportunities for UK suppliers in these dynamic markets.
This session will be led by Jonathan Ledger CMgr FCMI MIOD, Skills and Professional Bodies Specialist in Technical and Vocational Education & Training at DBT, alongside Luisa Edves, Director of Education, Skills and International Development at British Expertise International, both from the UK delegation. We will also be joined by regional colleagues from DBT to update on TVET opportunities in Indonesia and Malaysia and to provide a guide to engaging in these regions.
The briefing will provide insights into both the Malaysian and Indonesian Technical and Vocational Education systems and government structures, looking specifically at how skills systems are brought together under relevant ministries. The briefing will delve into a number of potential opportunities in a wide range of industrial sectors, including green skills and entrepreneurship training, competency-based soft skills, maritime, engineering, tourism, accountancy, manufacturing, business management and mechanics and more.
