If attending in person, please arrive for registration and networking from 14:30.The panel event (and the virtual link) will start at 15:00.
The panel will explore how the UK’s leadership in digitally-driven infrastructure decarbonisation can be effectively adapted and scaled in emerging markets. By exploring insights from the technical, funding, and government spheres, attendees will gain actionable ideas to accelerate decarbonisation efforts within their organisations and client networks.
The panel will share digital decarbonisation initiatives and innovations in the UK, and how they have been adapted for emerging markets (Mott MacDonald), considering their unique contexts and challenges.
Drawing on these projects, the panellists will share both successes and challenges specific to advancing infrastructure’s decarbonisation through digital and the importance of a sound policy framework and regulatory environment.
They will highlight the importance of adaptability and flexibility when implementing digital decarbonisation strategies and a focus on change management, rather than a digital-only approach. There will be a focus on how digital decarbonisation frameworks (Connected Places Catapult) and sustainable funding mechanisms (EBRD Green Cities) can be developed in emerging markets, fostering collaboration between public and private sectors.
The panel will focus on sharing practical, actionable lessons for digitally-enabled decarbonisation in emerging markets, helping to accelerate the global transition toward a sustainable, low-carbon future.
