The world has faced an unprecedented level of supply chain disruption in recent years, caused by a combination of issues related to the pandemic, geo-political issues from the implementation of Brexit to the on-going situation in Ukraine.
A standard definition of Supply Chain Assurance is given as: confidence that the supply chain will produce and deliver elements, processes, and information that function as expected. ’As expected’ covers a variety of different themes – from the ‘quality’ and security’ of a supply chain to its contribution to themes of environmental standards and drivers of sustainability. It also includes the deployment of supply chains that comply with necessary ethical standards around people, goods and services it needs to function. Clearly, multiple supply chains have not ‘functioned as expected’ in recent years – with significant economic and social impact on a global basis.
Our focus on this critical theme for the future of international trade begins with a Panel Discussion to explore WHY it matters, and HOW a more assured supply chain can be delivered, leveraging expertise that already exists within UK based companies.
In this panel discussion, we will hear from thought leaders in the field of supply chain assurance – they will examine why this topic matters and how they look to steer effective implementation.
We look forward to hearing from Transparency International UK - who will focus on the business integrity challenges, why they matter, and how they can be overcome.
We will hear from a number of BEI members who are actively involved in supporting organisations implement and measure a more effective Supply Chain. They have expertise across a broad range of key areas of concern in Supply Chain Assurance. Their solutions cover key areas of concern in the global supply chain, including social responsibility, security, quality, environmental impact and sustainability.
