The PPP Center acts as the central coordinating and monitoring body for all PPP projects in the Philippines. It leads the country’s PPP Programme by advocating policy reforms, supporting implementing agencies in every aspect of project preparation, overseeing the Project Development and Monitoring Facility (PDMF), offering advisory and facilitation services, and monitoring progress while strengthening agencies through a range of capacity-building initiatives.
A new PPP Code (Republic Act No. 11966, otherwise known as the PPP Code of the Philippines) was recently enacted in the Philippines, introducing significant reforms to streamline and enhance PPP projects. The PPP Code consolidates various laws and regulations governing PPPs, creating a unified legal framework for both national and local projects. It clarifies approval processes, establishes a predictable tariff regime to safeguard public interest, and strengthens institutions supporting PPP initiatives.
This virtual event with the PPP Center will provide an overview of the new PPP legal framework, bring key insights to British organisations looking to understand the best practice considerations in engaging on PPP projects in the Philippines, and showcase some of the specific opportunities that would be a good fit for UK organisations – including with the PPP Center’s Project Development and Monitoring Facility (PDMF), as well as the project pipelines in various sectors, such as the Transport and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sectors.
