Join BEI on Wednesday 19th July from 9:00-11:00 for an in-person round table on Lessons learned from the Girls Education Challenge (GEC): A ‘how to’ guidance on technical, operational and managerial approaches and tools. We will be joined by Emma Sarton, Senior Education Advisor at Cambridge Education Mott MacDonald (GEC Learning Lead), George McLaughlin and Dr Sharon Tao, Team Leaders for the GEC at FCDO.
Following our event on 12th April on Lessons Learnt from the GEC Programme, we are delighted to host an in-person roundtable on ‘Portfolio in Practice Series.’ This event will be led by Cambridge Education Mott MacDonald and aims to bring together anyone with an interest in managing a diverse portfolio of education programmes and the challenges that occur when projects have varying degrees of capacity, experience and expertise. The Portfolio in Practice Series consolidates the findings and lessons learned from the GEC’s experience of driving performance across a complex portfolio of 41 projects across 17 countries over a number of years.
We will be joined by George McLaughlin, Team Leader for the Girls’ Education Programme Team and GEC Senior Responsible Officer, FCDO, and Dr Sharon Tao, Education Director and Team Leader of the Girls’ Education Challenge, who will discuss what it takes to raise and maintain standards across a portfolio in areas like Safeguarding, Value for Money, and Sustainability, amongst others.
They will discuss how the Series provides practical ‘how to’ guidance regarding technical, operational and managerial approaches and tools that ensure that a large and diverse set of projects not only deliver but deliver well.
