Our in-house gallery D Contemporary, with the support of the Embassy of the Philippines in London and in collaboration with DF Agency from Manila, is delighted to present ‘Pearls of Colour’, a group exhibition showcasing top emerging contemporary artists from the Philippine art scene.
The exhibition features a mix of outstanding renowned artists whose work is sought after across Asia alongside the country's top emerging talents. It includes 36 works, comprising figurative, landscape, and abstract paintings, as well as sculptures. Each piece tells a unique story that speaks to the heart of Filipino identity and experience.
‘Pearls of Colour’ celebrates the diverse and dynamic artistic expressions that have emerged from the Philippines, capturing the essence of a nation with a deep and multifaceted heritage. The reference to the country’s pearl heritage is deeply symbolic, drawing parallels between the natural beauty of pearls and the rich cultural contributions of the Philippines. Pearls, a timeless symbol of purity and beauty, are emblematic of the resilience and creativity that define the contemporary Filipino cultural scene. The exhibition aims to highlight this connection, showcasing works that not only represent artistic excellence but also pay homage to the country’s historical and cultural journey.
BEI members are invited to join the Private View evening on 25th September from 18:00. This special RSVP-only event is intended for members, embassy officials and selected gallery clients.
