This is a unique opportunity to engage directly with senior officials from the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), who will be in London as part of FCDO’s wider programme of engagement in the Philippines.
This roundtable will provide a concise overview of the Philippine ESG landscape, a chance to share UK experience and a practical space to explore financing models and collaboration opportunities. It aims to identify concrete opportunities for advisory work, capacity building and joint projects that support the scaling of sustainable finance in the Philippines.
Regulators and market participants in the Philippines are increasingly aligning with international standards to promote transparency, resilience and responsible investment. Mandatory sustainability reporting for listed companies is due to begin in FY 2025, and investor interest in green and sustainability‑linked instruments is rising; the market is therefore at a critical juncture.
The policy foundations for ESG integration are in place, with the Philippine Sustainable Finance Roadmap and the SEC’s Sustainability Reporting Guidelines setting out a core framework which has been boosted by the PSE’s work advancing complementary measures, such as ESG reporting requirements and investor education programmes.
The Philippine Stock Exchange is the country’s national securities exchange, providing the primary market and trading platform for listed companies and investors. The Securities and Exchange Commission is the Philippines’ principal regulator for corporations and capital markets, responsible for company registration, supervision and investor protection.
