On Tuesday 17th January 2023 at 15:00-16:30 GMT, British Expertise International in partnership with OCO Global is delighted to host an online workshop focusing on business opportunities in Peru for British exporters of services in the Infrastructure Sector. Participants will be asked to discuss opportunities for UK companies and explore how they can be developed and what support might be needed.
By way of background, FCDO and the British Embassy in Lima have commissioned OCO Global to undertake a review of bilateral trade between the United Kingdom and Peru. The context is a strong desire by the UK and Peru to strengthen and deepen their trading relationship and the aim of the review is to identify key opportunities for exporters in both countries. The first phase of the review was completed in 2022 by OCO Global and the current, second phase aims to draw out opportunities to increase trade in the services sector. British Expertise International is partnering with OCO Global on the first workshop in the consultation series, focusing on Infrastructure Services.
The main purpose of the workshops will be to gather input for the review, so we will be looking for participants to share thoughts on where the opportunities for UK/Peru trade lie; how can the opportunities be developed; what trade promotion mechanism (missions, trade fairs etc) would be most suitable and what trade barriers need to be addressed. We will also be keen to evaluate any opportunities in terms of their contribution to sustainable development, clean growth and innovation.
The outcome of the review will be a clear direction of focus for trade promotion and trade policy work going forwards. The findings from the Review will be presented to participating businesses in March 2023.
