Sectors offering particular opportunities to UK companies include energy, infrastructure and agri-technology. With expertise and capabilities in engineering, science and technology the UK companies can deliver in these sectors as the Nigerian government emphasises economic diversification to reduce the country’s dependence on oil. The Nigerian government's Economic Growth and Recovery Plan outlined a wide range of initiatives centred on agriculture, industrialisation, energy and social investment, creating more opportunities within increased public-private partnerships.
Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola was appointed as the Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom by President Muhammadu Buhari in January 2021 and arrived in London in May 2021.
