British Expertise International is delighted to host an event with the Kurdistan Regional Government and the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in Kurdistan on Wednesday 20 October from 2.00pm (BST). The event will provide the latest updates on areas of opportunities for UK businesses key priority sectors, including infrastructure, education, and health.

Kurdistan is a semi-autonomous state in Iraq that borders Iran, Syria and Turkey, and currently offers numerous investment opportunities that are currently hard to find in other parts of Iraq or Central Asia. Since 2003, the region has experienced dramatic economic growth and political stability that continues to this day, despite the violence in other parts of Iraq, meaning it has become a magnet for foreign investors and foreign direct investment.

In the last several years,Kurdistan has been undergoing rapid development. The region has experienced an estimated 12 percent growth, one of the highest in the world. Kurdistan is one of the best places to invest in the region because of its current need for foreign direct investment, security and flexible and transparent investment laws. Some of the key business opportunities include: real estate, communication, transport, agriculture, education, banking, whilst current investment priorities are centred around agriculture, tourism, and other various industries.
