The British Expertise International Nature-based Solutions Working Group is delighted to invite you to explore the upcoming BEI member publication: Financing and Implementing Nature-based Solutions in Urban Areas - a Guide for Local Actors. With this practical guide, we focus on urban NbS that are of benefit to human settlements (sometimes also referred to as green infrastructure).
Our panel, including speakers from the World Bank, EBRD and ADB, will help us explore how Nature Based Solutions can provide a range of co-benefits to municipalities in the Global South, and in this context we will have the opportunity to discuss the BEI NbS working group’s upcoming output - Financing and Implementing Nature-based Solutions in Urban Areas - a Guide for Local Actors.
Member co-authors of the publication, DT Global, will present an overview of the guide providing an opportunity for feedback and suggestions from the panel and the BEI members to strengthen the guide which will be incorporated in the final publication - to be launched in the autumn of 2023.
Our speakers are drawn from three of BEI members’ key stakeholders: The World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and Asian Development Bank (ADB). They will each deliver some remarks regarding their organisations’ perspectives and experience in building capacity on urban NbS with local actors, and we look forward to discussing our upcoming Guide with them.
The BEI NbS working group brings together BEI members with knowledge and expertise in delivering solutions to better manage and sustainably restore nature and the environment across different geographies and sectors, supporting networking, knowledge sharing, and forming new partnerships.
