There is an urgent need to address biodiversity conservation and restoration. This session will explore some of the innovative approaches and partnerships related to biodiversity credits. Our panel will showcase successful collaborations between public and private entities in regions where biodiversity is particularly vulnerable.
Agroforestry and soil regeneration are essential for maintaining healthy ecosystems. These approaches sequester carbon, enhance soil fertility, and promote biodiversity. By nurturing skills within communities, empowering the marginalised, ensuring water and food security, and advancing clean energy solutions, there is a myriad co-benefits organisations can bring to society and the environment. We will explore financing mechanisms to scale up these solutions, ensuring their widespread adoption across different landscapes.
Combining carbon sequestration efforts with biodiversity conservation is a powerful strategy. Projects that simultaneously address climate change and protect ecosystems offer a holistic approach, recognising that healthy ecosystems are essential for long-term carbon storage– and our speakers will discuss how their organisations are pioneering these solutions.
For the first time in BEI’s programme, we are pleased to welcome Gold Standard. Gold Standard are currently developing a biodiversity impact framework methodology that guides the design, management, implementation, and monitoring of actions that generate true biodiversity impacts. The release of this framework is expected by the end of 2024.
Alongside the Gold Standard, we will be joined by two BEI members who are leading the way in agroforestry, scaling ARR projects, and driving positive social, environmental, and economic change through Nature-based Solutions.
