John Gallagher was appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia in April 2021. Prior to this, John has held positions across the globe from the Deputy Head of Mission in Buenos Aires to Counsellor in Beijing and brings a wealth of experience having joined the foreign office in 2008.
Azerbaijan:
Fergus Auld was appointed HM Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan in April 2022. Fergus has had a long and distinguished career in the foreign office, having joined in 1999. Starting as a Desk Officer, Nuclear Non-Proliferation, he has held multiple positions from Political Counsellor in Moscow to Head of the International Extremism Unit from 2014-2015. Prior to taking up his position in Azerbaijan, Fergus held the position of Head, South Asia Department and India Coordinator.
