Join us for this session, with speakers including the Mauritanian Ambassador to the UK, as we learn about the opportunities for UK businesses in Mauritania from government officials and the Mauritanian British Business Council.
Mauritania plays a huge role in regional leadership, and in 2024 has taken on the position as rotating chair of the African region, further amplifying its voice in the region. Since opening its UK Embassy in 2013, the relationship between the UK and Mauritania has grown from strength to strength. There is a growing number of international partnership projects requiring UK investment and involvement, especially in the education, energy, financial, and climate related sectors.
Climate-related disasters like droughts and floods are becoming more frequent and severe in Mauritania, hindering economic progress and infrastructure development, impeding overall development efforts. UK organisations have the opportunity to work with the Mauritanian government to support sustainable development and economic growth through both private and public sector investment.
In this session, we will delve into the opportunities for UK organisations in Mauritania, as well as advice and support available for commercial entities operating in the wider region.
