Jamaica: Infrastructure Opportunities

We in partnership with the Caribbean Council are delighted to work in collaboration with JAMPRO, the Government of Jamaica investment promotions agency, to present a webinar on opportunities for UK businesses in Jamaica and highlighting some great infrastructure developments.

The webinar will include:

·      An introduction to Jamaica and the wide range of opportunities it offers

·      a presentation focused on opportunities in the infrastructure sector

·      a ‘fireside-chat’ with representatives from the Development Bank of Jamaica and the National Water Commission.

·      A discussion and Q&A session

This webinar comes at a time when Jamaica has recently shared ‘Jamaica’s Greater Infrastructure Development Programme’ - a multi-year comprehensive infrastructure programme, which includes roads, bridges and other structures i.e. street lighting, sidewalks and ramps, traffic lights, water and sewerage, fire hydrants and drainage.

Jamaica is ranked #4 in LatinAmerica and the Caribbean for its capacity to successfully undertake Public Private Partnerships (PPP) according to a recently released report by the Economist Intelligence Unit. Jamaica's ranking is a testament to the efforts made to build Jamaica's PPP capacity, and it serves as an indicator that Jamaica can also transition to open, transparent, and competitive procurement for large scale infrastructure projects.
