We are delighted to be hosting colleagues from the UK Department for Business and Trade based at the British High Commission in Lagos for a deep dive session on the opportunities for UK businesses in infrastructure in Nigeria. The event will provide an overview of the latest pipeline of opportunities in the country, and the support available to British companies.
Our speakers will explore government priorities and strategic plans across infrastructure development in Nigeria, and highlight some of the instruments available to support UK organisations. They will also provide a deep dive on some specific projects that are a good fit for the UK supply chain.
Nigeria is one of the UK’s most significant trading partners in Africa, and the UK remains a key investor in the country. This strong bilateral relationship presents exciting opportunities to expand trade, enhance investment and foster inclusive economic growth.
Nigeria’s development is vital for regional stability, global energy transition goals and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. The country has committed to net zero emissions by 2060 and is actively pursuing reforms to improve energy access, promote clean technologies and strengthen climate adaptation.
In the infrastructure space, there is a wealth of opportunities for British organisations across transport, maritime infrastructure, water and sanitation, affordable housing, and digital infrastructure. With a growing population and urbanisation trends, Nigeria offers a dynamic landscape for UK businesses to engage in impactful and sustainable development.
