The relationship between the UK and Morocco is entering a new era of positive relations following the UK-Morocco Association Agreement in 2022. Recent discussions have focused on renewed collaboration on trade, education, climate, clean energy and green growth, as well as the global implications of the Russia-Ukraine conflict on food and energy security. There is a huge pus to depend economic links between Casablanca And London, where the first Sub-Committee of the UK-Morocco Association Agreement, which focuses on trade, was held in London.
We will have an overview on the ease of doing business in Morocco and discuss what support are available for UK business. This session will have a specialised focus on the opportunities in the infrastructure sector, specifically within transport, the energy transition and supply chain – among many more. We will have presentations from UKEF Morocco, about specific pipeline opportunities and projects available for UK businesses. UKEF Morocco was recently launched and has a solidified presence in Morocco, greatly supporting UK companies as they enter into and operate in this market.
UKEF recently appointed a new International Export Finance Executive in Casablanca and up to £4 billion is now available for Moroccan buyers for projects in the region, provided at least 20% of the content is sourced from UK businesses. The new Executive will be a great asset to UK companies operating in the region for opportunities and will promote investment between the nations by providing Moroccan buyers with the access they need to support deliver projects from UK suppliers. Current opportunities of interest lie in energy transition, water desalination and infrastructure on a broad scale.
Join us for this session to learn more about Morocco and the pipeline of opportunities available!
