Join us for a webinar with Sean Jordon - Kirwan, South Africa Country Director for the Department of International Trade, looking at Current & Upcoming Infrastructure Business Opportunities in South Africa.
South African president Cyril Ramaphosa announced in June that “We have placed infrastructure at the centre of the stimulus our economy needs to achieve a sustainable recovery” from Covid-19, in a speech announcing South Africa's £100billion plus plan to revive its economy post-Covid. This plan will provide ample opportunities for UK businesses to export their expertise in one of the most open and UK friendly countries in the Southern Africa region.
Currently South Africa spends 5.8% of GDP on infrastructure while the National Development Plan has outlined the plan for this to increase to 10% by 2030. As part of this push 276 housing, energy, transport, water and other projects were identified coming out of the President’s inaugural Sustainable Infrastructure development Symposium held in June and of those funding has already been secured for 55 of them.
Join us for an insightful conversation exploring ongoing and upcoming projects, a discussion on the current political and economic circumstances in South Africa, and an update for British businesses on working in South Africa - including the opportunities ahead.
