Azerbaijan has defined itself over the last few decades as one of the most significant energy producers in the world. However, in recent years there has been a growing drive to diversify and transform Azerbaijan into a more dynamic and outward looking economy that attracts an increasing amount of international business, across a range of sectors other than energy.

Whilst stable growth has continued over the past few quarters, the war in Ukraine has brought unwelcome attention to the region, largely due to historical links with Russia. However, over the past number of years, Azerbaijan has made significant political and regulatory reforms which has increased the attractiveness and competitiveness of the country. In this event, we will look to gain a greater understanding of the current business environment and highlight how now is the time for UK companies to do business with Azerbaijan, due to the multitude of opportunities it provides in sectors such as energy, education, and healthcare as well as notable infrastructure opportunities in the liberated territories.
