Join British Expertise International for an in-person panel event on Green Skills in the Skills & Training Working Group on 13th July, from 11:00 – 13:00. We will be joined by speakers from: Turner & Townsend, The Skills Network, and Climate Sense, who will be presenting on their organisation’s commitment to delivering against the green skills agenda.
Green skills are “the knowledge, abilities, values and attitudes needed to live in, development and support a sustainable and resource-efficient society” (United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, 2022). There exists a growing demand for green skills in both the UK and beyond as we become increasingly conscious of unsustainable activity in the workplace as well as the pressures of climate change on industries needing to adapt to the use of renewable energy, and more sustainable practices.
According to the World Economic Forum (2022), 1.47 billion jobs globally are dependent on a stable climate, and as we look to transition to a low-carbon and sustainable economy, green skills will play a critical role in aiding the shift as will the very skills and training providers in equipping labour with these skills.
Many of our members at British Expertise International are committed to providing green skills of and for the future. We will be hearing from Turner & Townsend, The Skills Network, and Climate Sense who will speak on:
- The green skills training programs they provide,
- Green jobs in emerging industries and the role of companies in equipping industries with the skills to deliver renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, sustainable architecture.
The BEI Skills & Training working group aims to support in building relations between industry partners and education providers, and to explore commercial opportunities within the skills and training sector.
