British Expertise International is delighted to be joined by representatives from the Department of International Trade in Ghana, as we hear the latest overview of Ghana’s strategy on climate resilience and adaptation, and the pipeline of climate-related opportunities in the country.
Ghana is increasingly seen as a developmental success story, with the country in 2019 ranking as the fastest growing economy in the world. Whilst Ghana has made increasing economic strides over the past decades, the country is still vulnerable to both the physical and financial effects of climate change. For instance, part of the country’s vulnerability is due to dependence on the production of crops that are sensitive to climate change, including the significantly important cocoa crop, which is currently worth $399 million of GDP. Underlining the importance of climate change adaption, resilience and mitigation across the entirety of society, this event will look to provide attendees with insight and understanding of these important and necessary changes.
Representatives from the Department for International Trade in Ghana will provide a climate related sectoral insight into market opportunities and specifically, where UK exporters can best provide solutions to the impacts of climate change. British Expertise International members will also be showcasing some of their latest work in the region, presenting a comprehensive overview of UK capabilities in this critical sector.
