Join us for an online session where our key speakers explore the subject of financing development, providing us with their key insights around this topic as well as the challenges and risks of development finance today. We will be joined by representatives from British International Investment, Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, Crown Agents Bank, and the Asian Development Bank.
Delivering on the global development challenges requires scaling up and diversifying global resources and broader financing approach through a combination of public, private, domestic and international resources.
Whilst traditionally development was driven by public funds, financial markets and investors have positively reacted to a stronger integration of financing development through public as well as private investment systems. Global development finance does not yet sufficiently reach the people and geographies that need it most and there remains large financing gaps.
A variety of financial instruments and mechanisms have emerged to create scalable and effective ways and leverage diverse sources of finance to channel them towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The recent prominence of the financing development agenda leads to an increasing need to keep up with the opportunities and risks emerging in this arena. The climate emergency, global security and conflict threats etc. are further compounding the challenges of financing development.
This event will bring insights and learnings from a range of stakeholders with expertise and experience designing and delivering financing tools for development. As well as exploring the challenges, risks, and the changing context of financing development.
