In March 2026, the FCDO announced its intention to prioritise people in crisis in countries with the greatest humanitarian need, including Sudan, in an effort to address ongoing challenges in fragile and conflict affected states. Preventing violence against women and girls (VAWG) is also a priority, which will see the FCDOlaunch a £19.95 million, 5-year programmeto prevent and respond to VAWG and conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) in conflict-affected areas of Sudan.
Against this backdrop and the changing landscape of global development reforms, Alice will offer us updates on the current context on the ground, as well as insights into FCDO's approach in the country.
