FCDO Development Director Series: Ethiopia

Join us as we host Paul Walters, the Development Director in Ethiopia for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) who will present FCDO’s development strategy, programming and pipeline of opportunities in Ethiopia. 

According to the FCDO, Ethiopia’s use of international aid and national resources have both boosted the economy and uplifted millions out of poverty. The government’s push to industrialise Ethiopia has resulted in improved access to water from 14% to 65%, net education enrolment from 20% to 93% and has shown significant drops in under-5 and maternal mortality rate.

Ethiopia’s investment into the public service is continuing to create new jobs and will foster economic opportunities with partnering countries like the UK.

Paul Walters will offer us updates on the current context on the ground as well as insights into FCDO’s development strategy in the country.
