Join us for an in-person panel event on Continuing Professional Development (CPD), with speakers from the British Council, City & Guilds Institute and the University of Sunderland. The in-person panel will explore different approaches to CPD frameworks and training educators in an international context.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is crucial to ensure that educators remain competent and effective in their roles. By engaging in CPD, teachers continuously enhance their knowledge, skills, and practices, which leads to improved teaching quality and better learning outcomes for students. CPD also empowers teachers by boosting their confidence and professional agency, enabling them to adapt to new educational challenges and innovations. Ultimately, CPD supports the long-term success and sustainability of the education sector, and British companies are well-placed to support global education systems around the world by sharing their expertise and experience.
This event will highlight best practice in delivering CPD for international educators, providing an opportunity for BEI members to learn from market leaders. The British Council will dive into their CPD Framework for Teachers, highlighting the focus on teacher competence and stages of development. The University of Sunderland will talk to the work they are delivering for the iQTS qualification. City & Guilds will present initiatives from their Leadership and Skills Development work as well as their Education portfolio.
The British Council supports peace and prosperity by building connections, understanding and trust between people in the UK and other countries, through education, arts and culture, and the English language. The British Council works with partners across the globe, including corporations, governments and multilaterals, trusts and foundations.
The University of Sunderland is internationally known for quality teaching and world-leading research. The university has 25,600 students based in campuses on the north-east coast, in London, Hong Kong, and at its global partnerships with learning institutions in 15 countries.
City & Guilds is a leader in global skills development, working with governments, organisations and education centres to provide work-based learning programmes in industries and sectors which offer the strongest prospects for jobs and growth.
