Join British Expertise International on Thursday 27th April from 11:00 – 14:00 for an in-person donor clinic workshop on Doing Business with USAID, in partnership with Konektid International. Mike Shanley, CEO of Konektid International will share best practice on growing your organisations’ work with USAID, funding opportunities and tips for navigating the procurement process, as well as changes to USAID funding following the New Partnerships Initiative and Biden Administration.
USAID is the world's premier international development agency. Their work, expanding over 100 countries, promotes a path to recipient self-reliance and resilience, and aims to end extreme global poverty. In the Fiscal Year 2022, USAID’s official development assistance (ODA) budget was $58.5 billion. The recent release of the President’s Budget Request for Fiscal Year 2023 reveals a 6% increase to $60.4 billion. The main sectors of spend by USAID include anti-corruption, democracy, human rights and governance, humanitarian assistance, women’s economic empowerment, equality and equity, climate change, locally-led development, and health.
Join this workshop to learn best practices for starting and growing your work with USAID, as well how to start building your organisation's USAID market strategy, and ways to get started as a subcontractor by connecting with established USAID primes. The workshop will cover how to learn about USAID funding opportunities, the USAID procurement process, and will provide you with the tools to take back to your organisation to build and grow your USAID work.
This will be targeted at international development and aid organisations based in the UK which are interested in USAID funding. There will also be a discussion on the changes under the Biden Administration, the New Partnerships Initiative, USAID's direction under Administrator Samantha Power.
