The CDB is an important multilateral partner for the UK, delivering a range of the UK's objectives and values across the Caribbean. Join us for an event co-hosted by The Caribbean Council & DIT as we convene a panel of CDB experts for an insight and discussion on the CDB’s procurement guidelines, and upcoming CDB opportunities in the Infrastructure and Resilience sectors.
With it’s core goal to reduce inequality and halve extreme poverty in its borrowing member countries by 2025, the CDB provides ample opportunities for UK businesses who have expertise in dealing with the conditions that are currently faced in the Caribbean nations.
With the United Kingdom Caribbean Infrastructure Fund (UKCIF) being administered by the CDB, there is plenty of opportunity for UK plc in this area. The Government of the United Kingdom, through the FCDO, has provided £300 million to build economic infrastructure in the Caribbean. The UKCIF provides grant funding for Infrastructure projects in eight Caribbean countries eligible for Overseas Development Assistance, and one UK Overseas Territory. CDB is the implementing partner for the Fund. The programme encourages growth in these countries and supports improved livelihoods, poverty reduction and safer conditions for citizens.
This event will focus on opportunities & case studies from the Infrastructure, Renewables, Sustainability & Environmental sectors.
The Caribbean Council is a long-established trade and investment organisation which supports responsible and sustainable private-sector led investment and development in the Caribbean, Cuba and Central America. It provides specialist trade advisory, public affairs and events services to a range of clients in the public and private sector.
