Join us for an in-person panel discussion which will explore compliance, investment and moving money in complex and challenging markets.
Many BEI members work in places with limited financial infrastructure, unpredictable regulation and restricted access to reliable banking. In these places, tighter anti-money-laundering rules, sanctions and FX volatility add to the complexity of everyday transactions. This session aims to explore two connected questions: how money moves into and out of these markets, and how organisations keep it safe and compliant along the way.
The panel will bring together speakers from BII, MetricsLed and Crown Agents Bank to provide an overview of compliance, investment and moving money in complex markets. MetricsLed will discuss what compliance looks like in hard-to-reach places and what it costs local organisations to meet a different standard for each funder. BII Head of Responsible Investment will share their approach to investing in frontier and fragile markets, and Crown Agents Bank’s commercial team will explain how FX and transaction flows work in practice.
The discussion is relevant to BEI members in all sectors working around the globe, and members are encouraged to bring colleagues from their finance and treasury teams.
