As usual in this series, we will be welcoming one of our members to deliver the key-note speech. The event is also open to non-members, and BEI members are encouraged to invite their partners and collaborators!
Our keynote speaker this time is Dr Marcela Tarazona, Partner of the Climate Finance and Economics practice at Genesis Analytics. Marcela will discuss how the conversation on Just Transition has progressed over the course of her career and reflect on her hopes for the future.
Marcela's experience includes climate and disaster financing and management, the just transition, public finance, shock responsive social protection, energy and transport economics, understanding the impacts of climate change, and green growth. Her work is at the intercept of governments, academia, donors, DFIs, private sector and the civil society.
Marcela has advised multiple governments, IFIs and international organisations, and has worked in over 20 countries across Asia, Latin America, and Africa. Marcela has led a wide range of FCDO and GIZ programmes within climate finance, transport, disaster protection, low-carbon energy, investment reform, and technical assistance.
