Climate Change Networking Evening

Join us for an evening of thought-provoking conversation, potential new partnerships and the chance to meet with members of our Climate Change Working Group.

This regular event brings together BEI members and stakeholders to engage on the pre- COP29 agenda and the broader climate efforts being undertaken by UK organisations across the globe. Every BEI Climate Change Networking Evening features a keynote speech where we dive into the scale of challenges that are facing governments, institutions and business as the world battles with the climate crisis.

After the keynote speech, we will host networking drinks in our Members Room where attendees have the opportunity to engage with members of the BEI Climate Change Working Group and key stakeholders representing HMG, the diplomatic community, international financial institutions, multi-lateral agencies and funding bodies.

For this session, we will be joined by Charles Reeve, Principal of Economic Growth and Infrastructure at Tetra Tech International Development. With over 40 years of experience in the climate sector, Charles specialises in the preparation and financing of infrastructure to build climate resilience for the economically disadvantaged.

As Team Leader of the FCDO’s Climate Resilient Infrastructure Development Facility from 2013 to 2024, Charles oversaw the preparation for climate resilient water infrastructure in Southern Africa. Throughout this time, he has mobilised finance for climate-resilient infrastructure in a variety of projects, including the development of innovative and non- traditional financing mechanisms and nature-based solutions to ensure ecosystem integrity, biodiversity conservation and sustainable livelihoods.

Charles will be speaking to us about his career with a focus on his experience in water resilience and how water is key to climate change adaptation efforts. In this session, we will be given insights into integrating climate into water planning and management, including access to finance and the intersections of climate, nature and nature-based solutions.
