Join us for an evening of thought-provoking conversation, potential new partnerships and the chance to meet with members of our Climate Change Working Group.
As usual in this series, we will be welcoming one of our members to deliver the keynote speech. The event is also open to non-members, and BEI members are encouraged to invite their partners and collaborators!
Our keynote speaker this time is Virginie Fayolle, Head of Climate at Mott MacDonald International Development Services. Drawing from her extensive experience in mobilising investments for climate resilience, Virginie will delve into the intricacies of adaptation finance and its pivotal role in combating climate change, emphasising the significance of integrating adaptation considerations into national planning processes.
Virginie has a strong background in climate change and environmental policy and economics, which she developed through her academic research and professional experience. She has worked with numerous national and regional governments and donor organisations, seeking to leverage climate finance for adaptation.
At the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Virginie supported the growth of its $200+ million Green Climate Fund (GCF) portfolio and developed multimillion-dollar projects and programmes in adaptation, with a focus on Nature-based Solutions. She has authored over 20 publications on climate finance and adaptation, notably serving as the lead author for the BEI Climate Finance Working Group’s positioning paper.
