The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and education opportunities. It works closely alongside DIT and Embassy colleagues overseas to support British education exports by developing key relationships with education ministries. They also work on a wide range of projects that support national systems of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment of English, internationalised high-quality education and supporting inclusive societies. Having been present in East Asia for over 70 years, the British Council have developed extensive knowledge about the education markets in the region.
We are pleased to provide an opportunity for British Council colleagues to share some of these insights with our members. Leighton Ernsberger, Director Education and English East Asia at British Council, will be joined by colleagues based throughout Southeast Asia. These include: Donna Mcgowan, Country Director for Vietnam; Hugh Moffat, Country Director for Indonesia; Jazreel Goh, Country Director for Malaysia; Pilar Aramayo-Prudencio, Country Director for Philippines and Andrew Glass, Country Director for Thailand. The presenters will share what they have been seeing on the ground in terms of the latest government response to the COVID-19 crisis; discuss where they see some of the more interesting opportunities for UK companies right now and in the medium term; and update members on what the British Council, alongside HMG colleagues, is doing in the region.
