This virtual panel during London Climate Action Week will explore how climate risk management can unlock new pathways for private finance by addressing systemic barriers that traditionally deter investment (e.g., de-risking adaptation investments, aligning investor incentives with systemic resilience, building adaptive capacity to unlock scalable solutions, and enabling systemic shifts in financial markets).
The session will spotlight the urgent need to bridge the adaptation finance gap; explore how holistic, systems-based approaches are key to lasting impact; and showcase collaborative strategies that unite public and private sectors. Our panel will highlight practical applications – from mobilising private capital for positive impact, to refining risk assessment models – that drive business growth while meeting environmental and societal needs.
Our panel brings together several experts driving systems change across finance, sustainability and climate resilience. Angie Woo from Climate Sense will explore how adaptive capacity metrics can help organisations navigate climate challenges through data-driven insights. Chris Stockey from Satarla, a risk management and sustainability consultancy, will offer a perspective on regulatory reporting, including TPT,ISSB, TCFD and TNFD, alongside double materiality assessments. Charles Coverdale, Associate Director in Ricardo's Economics team, will explore how natural capital markets are shaping business investment decisions, particularly in infrastructure, and examine the CFO's role in climate finance. Johannes Olschner-Wood, Sustainable Finance Lead in Palladium's Natural Capital business, will discuss the role of blended finance in advancing natural capital investments and its implications for sustainable economic growth.
Hear from leading voices in climate finance, risk management and sustainability as we share insights on adaptive capacity metrics, regulatory reporting, natural capital, and mobilising private capital for sustainable development.
