October is Black History Month and as part of our Diversity and Inclusion focus, join us as we host a panel of senior black men and women in the international development sector as they share their career journeys in this sector – experiences, challenges and career progression insights.
Black History Month is a way of remembering the important role played and being played by countless generations of people of African and Caribbean descent in shaping the UK’s story. It’s an opportunity to acknowledge, appreciate and celebrate the rich contribution they have made to UK’s national and cultural life in addition to supporting the UK’s national and global economic, social and political influence.
International development as a sector often speaks about promoting equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) as foundations for effective delivery of aid projects and interventions. It is therefore vital that the industry takes a leading role in demonstrating practical organisational strategies to support EDI. Effecting these changes has to start the with the leadership where organisational decisions are made.
