Roundtable with the Prime Ministers Trade Envoy to Colombia, Chile, Peru, Argentina - Mark Menzies MP

UK companies generally tend to have outdated perceptions of trading in Latin America. Companies experienced in trading overseas may have business with Asia, Europe and the US, but may have avoided Latin America because of worries about security or a lack of knowledge about the opportunities. However, there is evident demand for British products and services. It can take more time than companies expect to see a return on their visits and investment, but those with patience and a doggedness for following up their meetings will usually see results. Chile, Peru and Colombia are all ranked as easier places to do business in than India, South Africa, Vietnam and Indonesia.

We have organised a series of “members only” private round-table webinars to give members the opportunity to engage with Trade Envoys in a closed roundtable discussion. The event format enables members to brief the Trade Envoys on some of their current priorities in the specific countries/region, the ease of doing business and some of the challenges encountered. The Trade Envoy will also share their insights and experiences on their markets of responsibility, including key opportunities and potential G2G engagement plans which may be of interest.
