BEI Climate Series: Built Environment

As part of the British Expertise International climate series, we are delighted to announce a three-part virtual webinar series, this series aims to showcase and deep dive into BEI and UK expertise into three strategically important climate related fields. When COP26 gets underway, we will be hosting themed events on Nature-based Solutions, the Built Environment and Extreme Weather, the current subgroups of our Climate Change Working Group. In each of these three sessions, experts from across the BEI membership and the wider UK climate related sectors will showcase their latest work and insights on the topic. Members will be presented with a comprehensive overview of each subject and understand how UK plc can continue to advance and lead the way in these critical areas.

The Built Environment is responsible for 39% of all global carbon emissions, with this sector facing multiple challenges as the world looks to tackle climate change. Join as our expert panellists showcase the real world examples of how to tackle some of the challenges facing the sector and demonstrate how members can incorporate these solutions into their own work.

Whilst this, the built environment, is critical to the planets long term success it needs to be adapted for and mitigated from the impacts of climate change. British based organisations have a significant contribution to make in supporting this transition. In this event, members from the BEI Built Environment subgroup will present a detailed overview of how we understand the built environment, its role in climate change & the challenges faced. Drawing from their expertise in the field, our panellists will demonstrate real world examples for tackling built environment challenges and providing insights to members on incorporating solutions into their own work.
