Over 2000 UK companies including BAE, Unilever (UK) and Vodafone are now conducting business in Turkey. Supported by effective economic governance and macroeconomic stability, Turkey has rapidly developed into one of the most investment-friendly countries in Europe.

The Turkish government has made clear that it wishes to see its prosperous economic relationship with Britain continue after the UK leaves the EU. In January 2017, the UK government announced a £100 million deal to support the development of fighter jets for the Turkish air force. Turkey exported £10.6 billion in goods and services to the UK in 2018, making the UK Turkey’s second most important export market after Germany.
