British Expertise International (BEI) to receive board seat and support secretariat for Infrastructure Exports UK (IE:UK)

London, United Kingdom, 17th April 2026 – UK-based membership organisation, British Expertise International (BEI), and Infrastructure Exports UK (IE:UK) reinvigorate partnerships as BEI receives a seat on the board of IE:UK and assumes the secretariat function of the group.

IE:UK brings together UK businesses of all sizes into consortia to bid for and deliver global infrastructure contracts globally, combining expertise across the supply chain. Co-chaired between industry (Stuart Senior, Gleeds) and government (Minister Chris Bryant, DBT’s Minister for Trade), the Board spearheads the UK’s international offer for large-scale sustainable infrastructure projects.

British Expertise International has acted as a strategic conduit between UK expertise and global demand for nearly 60 years as a membership network dedicated to supporting UK-based organisations in exporting the best of UK expertise in professional services.

The IE:UK Board includes a range of British Expertise International’s members and partners, including Gleeds, AtkinsRealis, Arup, Mott MacDonald, WSP, Turner and Townsend, and Connected Places Catapult.

Alongside joining the board of IE:UK, BEI will assume the secretariat function of the group, aiming to grow the UK’s infrastructure offer through its global networks, market insight, and convening power.

John Pelton MBE, Senior Advisor for Infrastructure at BEI, will play an integral role in reinvigorating BEI’s partnership with IE:UK. As John states:
