Project Description

MOTT MacDONALD

Gas flaring represents an annual loss to the Nigerian economy of about $US1.25billion per year, as well as polluting the air and causing devastation to the rainforest.

Mott MacDonald worked with Daewoo Engineering and Construction on the Shell Petroleum Development Company's Cawthorne Channel Associated Gas Gathering Project in Nigeria as part of their goal of eliminating flaring in Nigeria by 2008.

This challenging project recovers US$ 250 million per year for Nigeria's GNP following the construction of three gas plants, one booster compressor station and approximately 71km of gas gathering and export pipelines, exporting associated gas for LNG production.

For this project Mott MacDonald was joint winner of the Large Consultancy (A) category of the British Expertise International Awards 2006.
