The project is funded under the Caribbean Region Environment Progamme (CREP) and consisted of the preparation of three reports - Resources, Water Quality and Management Plan.
The study area includes a range of attributes, historical and cultural (including the Bath Hotel, the first hotel in the Caribbean, built in 1778), natural resources (Bath Bog and 'hot' Bath Stream) and is used by the local community for bathing and recreation.
A Vision and Objectives for the study area were prepared in conjunction with stakeholders and local residents, and ideas developed that would encourage tourism while protecting the natural assets and local interests. The final plan included a new spa pool, visitor centre, boardwalk through the Bog, interpretation and a community park.
For this project Hyder Consulting were finalists in the Large Consultancy (B) category of the British Expertise International Awards 2006.
