Project Summary
Davis Langdon provided Cost Management services for the Mall of the Emirates - the flagship mall of MAF Shopping Malls. At the time of construction it was the largest shopping mall outside North America.
Project Description
The total gross floor area of the mall is 268,085m2 and it hosts approximately 434 shops and boutiques. High quality finishes combined with good anchor stores, convenient access and pleasant car parking make this one of the most successful shopping malls in the region.
Parallel concourses on two levels reduce walking distances between shops and zoning of the mall is also employed. In the first zone economical high volume stores like Carrefour and Home Centre are mixed with Arabian Treasures and smaller units. The central zone houses most of the worldwide known high quality fashion houses and department stores. Finally the third zone focuses on entertainment with the Ski Dubai snow centre, Magic Planet, Cinestar, Arts Centre and Theatre and Kempinski Hotel.
Throughout the mall there are 65 food outlets, the majority in three food courts.
