These works to upgrade and extend the operational life of one of the busiest ship yards in the world were carried out in a fully operational dock environment and were completed on time and to budget.
Kier transferred UK standards for Health and Safety as far as possible to an overseas environment.
Proposed by Kier, this was the first construction project in Dubai carried out under a partnering arrangement.
Minimising the impact of these works on the existing shipyard activities allowed the Client to achieve significant positive growth in business over the construction period.
For this project Kier Construction Limited was a winner in the British Expertise International Awards, 2007/8.
