Exhibition Consultants Ltd ('ECL'), the consultancy arm of the Montgomery exhibitions company provides specialist planning, marketing, and management consultancy services for the development of trade fair centres and all related projects. For major assignments it can extend its consultancy services and undertake full executive responsibility for marketing and project operations. Its consultants include experts from its parent group, and outside specialists. ECL is based in London but operates on a world-wide basis, with particular interests and experience in developing countries.

THAILAND - Department of Export Promotion: feasibility study for an international trade fair in Bangkok on behalf of the European Commission.

SPAIN - Expo 92, Seville: consultancy advice for the 1992 World's Fair.
GREAT BRITAIN - 'Riyadh Yesterday and Today': operation of a major themed exhibition at London's Olympia for the Government of Saudi Arabia.
SINGAPORE - Trade Development Board: consultancy and training services for exhibition and trade promotion personnel.
INDONESIA - Jakarta Development Corporation: ECL provided specialist analysis and recommendations on design and management for the feasibility study and design concept for the Jakarta International Fairgrounds, the largest in the ASEAN region.
UNITED NATIONS - International Trade Centre (UNCTAD/GATT) Exhibition training programmes in Sri Lanka, Greece, Bangladesh, India and management consultancy for the Trade Fair Authority of India on behalf of the International Trade Centre, Geneva. ECL has also prepared an exhibition design training programme for the ITC and has carried out a number of assignments for the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation.
CYPRUS - Cyprus State Fairs Authority: Management and operational consultancy project in conjunction with Cyprus Development Bank. International Merchandising Centre, Nicosia: Design review of project for permanent international trade mart.
RUSSIA - Concept study for an international trade fair complex in Novosibirsk, Siberia. Management training programme for senior executives organised in both London and Novosibirsk. Management training in former Soviet Union and UK for indigenous exhibition organisers.
JORDAN - Market research and design review for new exhibitIon and conference centre.
NETHERLANDS - Design and management review of trade centre for Government of Thailand.
OMAN - Management advice for the redevelopment of the Oman International Exhibition Centre, Muscat

Garden Festivals:
GREAT BRITAIN - International Garden Festival, Liverpool, England. 1984. The International Garden Festival was the largest exposition to be held in Britain since the Festival of Britain in 1951 (it attracted almost 3.4 million visitors) and was recognised as a world status event by the International Bureau of Exhibitions. In 1983 ECL was appointed to operate and market the Festival and a small team experienced in exhibition management and promotion was seconded to Liverpool. Their role was to plan the operation and marketing of the event, and within the budgeted commercial targets, ensure that the Festival operated effectively as a major public attraction. ECL subsequently undertook studies for the UK Department of the Environment to determine the 1988 (Glasgow) and 1990 (Gateshead) Garden Festivals and for the Welsh Office (Ebbw Vale 1992). ECL has also provided marketing and operations consultancy to the Stoke, Glasgow and Gateshead Festivals. Internationally, ECL advised on Garden Festivals under consideration in Singapore and Melbourne, Australia.
